Our Pizza Dough recipe creates the perfect stovetop pizza! Golden and crispy on the outside, and soft and fluffy on the inside with a flavourful topping of pesto, cheese, tomato slices and olives.
Ingredients
- 4 cups plain flour
- ½ tsp. salt
- 375ml warm water
- 1 sachet of dried yeast
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 1 tsp. sugar
Method
- Mix water, yeast and sugar in a small bowl. Allow liquid to activate and bubble.
- In another large bowl, combine flour and salt. Mix with a whisk to aerate flour.
- Make a well in the centre of the flour and pour yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Mix with a large spoon and bring dough mixture together by cutting into the flour to mix.
- Then use your hands to combine the dough properly.
- Take the dough ball out of the bowl and place on a floured flat surface. Pour a little oil into the bowl to coat the bottom and sides.
- Knead the dough on the flat surface for at least 10 mins until its smooth and elastic like.
- Place the dough back into the oiled bowl. Cover the bowl with cling wrap or a clean tea towel and place in a warm area to rise until it doubles in size.
- When doubled in size turn the dough out onto a floured surface, roll and push dough out to make into a large circle big enough to fit in the Bessemer 32cm multi frypan.
- Top pizza dough with olive pesto, cheese, tomato slices and black pitted olives. Place lid on top and cook on stove top for at least 20 mins or until dough and toppings are cooked. When cooked take off stove, sprinkle with rocket leaves and enjoy.
